  At the South Hill Town Council meeting on may 14, 2007, on behalf of the Town Council, Mayor Horne presented the Cook family with a plaque containing a Resolution of Thanks and Appreciation for Councilman Cook’s 17 years of service on the Town Council. Councilman Cook served on many different committees of the Council, and currently was the Chairman of both the Cemetery and Fire Department Committees, and served on the Personnel and Street Committees as well. He also served as an elected official on the Southside Planning District Commission since 1993.

  The Dominion 2006 World Inboard Championships - Clarksville Hydroplane Challenge was held October 7 and 8, 2006 between the bridges in Clarksville. Despite the weather, the racing was more exciting than ever and the event continued to grow in its third year since returning to the hydroplane circuit. Organizers are already looking forward to more racing excitement when the World Inboard Championships return to Clarksville October 6 and 7, 2007.
